We’ve moved into the time of year when hotels start to announce their big promos, and Hyatt just launched its new one, World of Hyatt Bonus Journeys. I’m mixed on this one: It has one condition that I despise, but it’s generous and offers some added incentives.

The Bonus Journeys Promotion Details

Hyatt Bonus Points | Earn Big In Las Vegas

This one is pretty easy to understand. You’ll earn double base points on all stays, with a maximum potential bonus of 100,000 points. Typically, you earn five base points per dollar spent at Hyatt properties.

One annoyance: The bonus begins with your second stay during the promotion period. They’re going to make you work for it.

I consider one World of Hyatt point to be worth about 1.5 cents, so the five points that you earn per dollar spent at Hyatt is actually worth more than the ten points per dollar at Marriott and Hilton, which can be worth as little as 0.4 cents per dollar.

Earning Big In Las Vegas

That last part is key for those of you who spend a lot of time in Las Vegas. Hyatt has a partnership with MGM and M life properties, so you’ll have a chance to double up before you even hit the blackjack tables.

First, don’t forget to register. It’s a small step, but companies want to make sure that you are actively pursuing the bonus so they can determine how effective the promotion is.

You have a wide range of dates and locations to earn points. It’s good on stays from February 15 to March 15, and it’s good at all participating properties, including partners like MGM and Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

An Added Bonus For Chase World Of Hyatt Credit Card Holders

Got the World of Hyatt Credit Card? If so there’s a concurrent bonus for you. You’ll earn an additional 1,500 points for stays that include a Friday, Saturday or Sunday night. Again, it starts with the second night and offers a 100,000 point maximum.

The Hyatt credit card is a good one, offering a 50,000 point sign-up bonus, and I consider Hyatt to be the best of the four major hotel rewards programs. If you plan on staying with them frequently, the card is worth your time. And if you don’t, it’s one that you can ignore.
