Stack Deals

One of the most important concepts in the points and miles game is the phenomenon known as a “stackable” offer, which is where you stack deals to earn more points and miles.

“Stackable” simply means that more than one promotion can be used at the same time. You probably take advantage of it already, even if you don’t realize it. For instance, if you are buying Frosted Flakes at ABC Supermarket, you can use a coupon from both the supermarket itself and a manufacturer’s coupon from Kellogg’s. Whoo-hoo! Cheap cereal and over-sugared kids.

In fact, we just published a piece that promotes a stackable offer, with Lyft now offering points for Hilton, Delta and, on occasion, JetBlue. Great. You don’t have to choose! Even better, an offer will (usually) tell you whether it can be used in conjunction with another.

Great! Where Do I Find Them?

Sadly, there’s no single spot that locates every offer and tells you what other offers you can use. We’ll certainly try, though, to keep our eyes open and alert you to what’s available. And here’s your first tip: IHG Rewards Club, parent of the Intercontinental and Holiday Inn brands, is notorious for allowing you to stack deals in their promotions. It’s not our favorite program, but it is a benefit that others don’t offer as frequently.
