It’s that time again, when we discuss the best of travel in the news with our weekly TWIT (This Week In Travel) notes. This week, we’ll look at using Marriott points to get to the Super Bowl, Delta’s investor day and a travel app for the lonely.
Get To The Super Bowl With Marriott Bonvoy Points And Bonvoy Moments

Wanna get to the Super Bowl but don’t have the $5,000 or so that you’ll need for a ticket? No problem. Just use a few Marriott points.
In November, we talked about bidding for experiences through Marriott Bonvoy Moments, an auction that lets you use your Marriott Bonvoy points for something other than hotels.
Marriott has a partnership with the NFL and, through this affiliation, they are able to pick up a few tickets to auction off to their members. In the past, the biggest Super Bowl “Moment” was two tickets to the game which included first-class round trip tickets to the game, a limo at your disposal and a hotel room that was built into the stadium. While that room isn’t available this year, you do have 20 packages to bid on, including suite tickets and a tour of the stadium.
On the plus side, tickets to the Pro Bowl a few weeks later are under 100,000 points each. Then again, that means that you have to go to the Pro Bowl…
Delta’s Investor Day – Week In Travel
Every year, Delta Airlines takes a bunch of Wall Street analysts, gives them some rubber chicken and delivers a presentation on why investors should buy their stock.
I’m not going to speak to the stock but, as an airline, Delta has a lot going for it. They’re running an 86% on-time percentage and 99% completion factor while earning revenue premiums versus their competition. They’ve also got a deal with American Express that will be worth over $7 billion by 2023.
You can see the entire presentation through the link above.
What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted? They Get This App
Wow, there really is an app for everything. Stephen Chung’s “Breakup Tours” is there for you when you lose that special someone.
They’ve got everything you need to get over someone, including a first-aid breakup kit and tours like the “Ending Ill-fated Love” guided tour. No word on whether Romeo and Juliet make a guest appearance.
