I’m spending some time in Bangkok and Singapore over the holidays, so I hope to have some fun posts coming up in the new year. For now, though, let’s review some of the silliness of the previous week in travel.

American Airlines Is Suing Delta Over The Word “Flagship”

Well, apparently there’s nothing that you can’t sue for these days. American Airlines is suing Delta over use of the term “Flagship,” which the former uses to describe its premium products. I’m thinking that this one will get tossed quickly. Given what I’ve seen about the relative merits of American’s and Delta’s products, there’s simply no way that Delta would want anyone to think that its quality is equivalent to American’s.

I don’t want to be too hard on American, though. One blogger’s review, which has gone viral, trashed the international first class product on the Los Angeles to Hong Kong route. We took this flight a few nights ago and, while the soft product wasn’t at the levels of its Asian peers, American’s service and seat gave us little to complain about. It was a good use of miles (but keep your eyes open in the coming weeks for the review of my single-best mileage redemption ever).

Eight Interesting Safety Features On Your Plane – Week In Travel

These types of articles are often clickbait-y, but I actually found “8 secret airplane safety features you didn’t know existed” interesting. If nothing else, it will answer burning questions like “Why do airlines still have ashtrays” and “What happens if my kid locks themself inside the lav?”

One safety feature that they don’t mention? Don’t choose the fish.

Sites To Visit For The Most Fervent Star Wars Fan

Haven’t had enough of Star Wars yet? I’m not actually sure how that’s possible, but if it is, CNN Travel has published one of the more comprehensive articles that I’ve seen on Star Wars sites that actually exist. And regardless of whether you are a fan of the franchise, some of the locations look pretty cool, particularly those cave homes in Tunisia.

And I thought it was cool that I got to see Platform 9 3/4 at King’s Cross Station.
