This week, we’re going to start with Fare Deals Las Vegas (and I have a feeling that we’ll be seeing a lot of Sin City). I couldn’t think of a good way to sort them, so I’m going to have one paragraph for the network carriers and one for the low cost guys.
And, as an added bonus, we have one deal from Las Vegas for the mileage runners (or, in this case, elite qualifying miles runners) in the crowd.
Remember, we can’t list every deal, but we’ll try to bring you some of the big ones. If the one you like isn’t listed, just change the city through a link below or go directly to Skyscanner. Most of these do require at least one day of mid-week travel.
Las Vegas Fare Sales at the Big Uglies
New York: Delta is showing a bunch of round-trip options starting at $219. These flights are non-stops, so they will minimize your travel time, as well.
Houston: American is moving into a United hub with a round-trip deal that will get you to Las Vegas for as little as $122. Expect retaliatory fares from Dallas. It involves a stop, but if you pay $24 more, you can go non-stop on Spirit/Frontier.
Washington DC (including Baltimore*): $199 – $203 will get you a round-trip trip to Las Vegas. Flights are either on American, Spirit or a mix of both, but for me, the extra $4 to fly AA round-trip is worth it.
Ultra-Low Cost Carriers to Las Vegas
Remember that the ultra-low cost carriers charge a ton of fees, but they can be useful by moderating prices in otherwise expensive markets. In this case, Spirit and Frontier are going after American Airlines in a couple of its hub markets. They include…
Philadelphia: We’re looking at round-trip flights starting at a ridiculous $147 round-trip from Philadelphia.
Miami: Coming in from Florida? No problem. Round-trip flights from Miami start at $187. At that price, it’s even worth dealing with Miami’s airport.
Minneapolis: Delta isn’t immune from competition, either. ULCCs fly from the Twin Cities to Las Vegas for just $119. I never could find good Thai in Minneapolis, but that price makes for an inexpensive trip to Lotus of Siam.
Boston: At 3.6 cents per mile, the $173 flight from the home of the 2019-20 NBA champion Boston Celtics is the cheapest deal we’ve found. The cab to the airport could cost almost as much as the flight! Well, not quite. But it’s cheap.
Star Alliance Elite Qualifying Run On United: FROM Las Vegas to Shanghai
If you’ve got a week to kill and have always wanted to see Shanghai, check out this mileage run from Las Vegas to Shanghai. You’ll pick up over 13,000 Premier Qualifying Miles for $399 (and change). That’s an awfully long flight, but also a heck of a lot of PQMs.
