[Editor’s Note: Joe Pane is temporarily sidelined by a sudden illness, so this truncated post about last night’s game was prepared by the LVA staff. As such, we’ve added a cool beer promotion in conjunction with attending the VGK games.]
We’re sure Joe would’ve given all kinds of statistics about this lopsided game, but in essence, all there is to say is that the New Jersey Devils trounced the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Devils scored the first four goals of the game in the first and second periods, forcing out Marc Andre Fleury; it was a truly rare sight, seeing the fabulous Fleury sitting down in the middle of play. He was replaced by third-string goalie Max Lagace (as Malcolm Subban is still out with an injury).
The VGK came back at the end of the second period with a couple quick scores by Eric Haula and Colin Miller, making the score 4-2 and turning the momentum, but the Devils roared back in the third with four goals, before Vegas scored a final meaningless goal to end the game at 8-3. It was New Jersey’s highest-scoring game of the season.
Now for the good news.
Parking at Hooters is an in-the-know play on the south end of the Strip. And where casinos that now charge for parking have used the excuse that people park in their lots to go to other casinos, Hooters has been embracing its free-parking policy.
The latest promo for Hooters’ parking play involves Vegas Golden Knights games. In addition to inviting VGK fans to park in their lot, if you show your ticket, you’ll get free beer. Not just a glass, but a full bucket! Get one bucket per ticket when you visit within two hours before or after the game. If there are two of you, do both.

Thanks to the staff at LVA for filling in for me. I hated that Coach Gallant scratched me from the line up but it was a good think as I didn’t have my skating legs vs. NJ Devils. I’m back and ready to go my game report for the Minnesota game is submitted and will be published shortly.
