Last week word got out that an $880,000 bet to win $160,000 had been made at South Point on Floyd Mayweather in his Aug. 26 fight against Conor McGregor. It’s the biggest reported bet on the fight thus far, and while the bettor’s identity wasn’t originally reported, it’s now known that it was three off the four Maloof brothers, Gavin, Joe, and Phil (no George). The brothers made the bet through their hangover-drink venture, Never Too Hungover, and have pledged to donate the payoff (if they win) to charity.
Even with the size of the wager, sports director Chris Andrews says that South Point is still heavy on McGregor, as is the case at sports books throughout Nevada. The public has piled on the underdog, though more Mayweather money in the form of similar big wagers is expected to materialize closer to the fight date.

An interesting side-note on the bet. Notice that the payoff is listed as 120,000. The bet was made at -550, so the correct payoff is $160,000 (880,000/5.5). The South Point system wasn’t calibrated to process the big wager. So after this ticket was printed, the bet was voided and two separate $440,000 bets were made.

I think that Floyd has an edge over Conor as its 49-o v/s 0-0.
