Whenever I am introduced to “Cousin Hendry” who is talked up as a skilled gambler, almost all I need to ask them is what book(s) they would recommend to a beginner (such as myself). If they say they don’t read books or are puzzled by the question, I can mentally hit the “ignore” button on the rest of the conversation, or be polite and try to bring it around to a different subject…
