You should write an article on “slots in a positive situation” / eg. what to look for?….
75% or more of machines in casinos today are slots…Thanks

I’m kind of impressed that both of you found enough positive plays to make Seven Stars. Although, if you bet max at a quarter video machine, you could spend a $500 in just one minute, or 100 TC, where Seven Stars requires 150,000 TC, so I guess that’s not saying much.

If you could give us just a few names of the slots that you are convinced having EV+ under normal conditions it would help me verifying. I am quite ambitious in this topic and from what I learned many of those multi-level progressive machines that can be found on the floors these days have something implemented that players don’t necessarily realize. While it’s technically possible to hit a “Major” or a “Grand” on those machines by playing minimum bet of that denomination offered, chances of hitting these top award games increase progressively if you’re betting more (per spin). If you click yourself through the info menu of some machines this is usually written, but not at all machines.
Once this is said, you will understand that hitting a Grand Jackpot of 12’000 Dollars or so by playing 0.88 Dollars/spin becomes a mission with a microscopic chance of success. Most of the times, if you see somebody hitting one of those big payouts, you see that that player was wagering 2.50, 5.00, or even more , per round. Under normal conditions, such machines return maybe 94 to 96 per cent. As the progressives of all levels go up , so do the return percentages. Still I find it hard to figure out at what point a certain machine is over 100 per cent. Another thing makes it a bit harder: Many machines have the top awards linked together so it’s not guaranteed that you will hit the big one even if you find a machine sitting idle. The best games I therefore find are the one with single progressives but there aren’t many of them. So the best times to play such games are the hours when the casinos are empty, that is between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. or so. This gives you the greatest chance of hitting the big 1 as you are playing a game that nobody else is playing.
That’s just my opinion. I recently gave up playing these new slots because I realized that sometimes the Major jackpot still can go much much higher than I initially expected and this is a very expensive experience.

I would really be interested what games you find to play under normal conditions to consider them EV+. Can you give us a few names of the games you are looking for, Mr Dancer?

I get a kick out of the effect of using a “walker’ – seems like something that should have been in a Jean Scott frugal gambling book.

I have no intention of writing about the intricacies of winning at slot playing. In Vegas, there are WAY too many people already doing this and finding exploitable games can be very difficult.

In the upcoming update to Michael Shackleford’s “Gambling 102,” which will be available from LVA in early 2023, he discusses nine or ten slot games that are beatable. Read it when it comes out. But when you learn these 10, you’ll want to learn 10 more, and then 10 more, etc. Despite what my friend Boris says to “just give me a few titles . . .”, if and when he gets those, he’ll want a few more.

Bob, this time I can’t agree with your reply. You said if you give me 10, I want 10 more, and 10 more. I would say that’s an assertion. While you don’t keep all other things so secret while writing about videopoker and its promotions, this time you are telling us only 20 per cent of something that you obviously keep secret like a pot of gold. We know that the videopoker thing is slowly coming to an end. Alternatives are not easy to find, I know that. But then again, these modern and sophisticated slot games are not so easy to beat as many players thing.

I don’t think if you would name one type of game out of the pool of those new generation of slot machines. If you name me one just to give me an idea what you are referring I would easily understand the terminology of that game. For instance the machine with that train of gold, or the Dragon LInk progressives, etc. There are dozens of different games that don’t look alike are are being played in the same way.
I remember back in the 90s when the Strip was packed with games that could be beat. And there were groups of gamblers checking out these games, going from one place to the other. These groups were well-organized (scouts, people to just lock up the machines, and then the players that brought the cash to play them until they had the bonus). There was a system, and there were oftentimes arguments about who could get to play on a machine etc. It wasn’t always pleasant.
It wasn’t hard for me to figure out what was going on and in the end the casinos removed those games as it was not good for the business overall. One of the last man standing games was down on Laughlin, at the Riverside. The Flush Attack game, which actually was a videopoker game that I liked to play. Those days are gone long time ago….
If you say that in the next weeks there will be information available about these games, you can be sure that some slot managers will be vary and respond accordingly. These new slots are manufactured in a way that it looks like a machine at certain times is due to pay out. Let me just tell you… it’s not always as it seems. Especially the linked progressive games can oftentimes play crazy games on you and keep you surprised. Especially when it comes to getting a higher payout, man , I tell you, these games are capable to play crazy games on you….

Boris, Bob is a business man. He has trade secrets. I have trade secrets in by business that give me an advantage. It would be pretty dumb to give those away. Bob already teaches people that want to learn how to play advantage VP. I am sure that lessened the availabiity of those good VP machines and promotions. Why should he give that info away. And maybe it is worth more for him to keep that info to himself then to sell or teach the info for a fee. Either way, Bob makes a living doing this. If I were Bob, I would not even mention that there even were advantage plays wiht the new slots.
    Happy Holidays to you all!!

The key is the walker. The casinos won’t back you off if you use a mobility device, they are afraid of getting sued under the ADA.

Boris, there are plenty of YouTube videos when you search for “advantage slots” or “advantage play slots” to whet your appetite. Must hit by slots, accumulators, and banking features. Vegas Education and Advantage Slots cover them. If Bob doesn’t want to use his limited time remaining on Earth to write about it, that’s his right. I do hate the people who gripe about other people “ruining” it for others though. You did your own research, you have no obligation to share, but if other people want to share their research which they did themselves with the general public, that is their right and prerogative. To those whose livelihoods are affected, find another angle. Merry Christmas everyone.

I purchased your packet of cards on video poker probably 20 years ago. Are they still valid or would it be to my best interest to update to current cards? I went to your class maybe 25 years ago and learned to play JOB and that’s the only game I still play. Finding a 9/6 slot isn’t easy but can be done. I will be Las Vegas March 3-6, and would love to take another of your classes, if possible. I’m 79 years old and not intending to become a professional gambler but I live near several Indian casino in San Diego County so go there monthly. I really love BJ and Craps but cannot afford the minimum bets at Indian Casinos and probably not in Las Vegas either. I will try to research and find out where the lesser bets can be played. Thank you for your time. I hope you answer me at my email.
