Here’s the one-minute version of Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas‘ surrealistic new teaser ad. I’m not sure who the target market is — the vibe is decidedly upscale but perhaps too arty, over the heads of the Speidi wannabes who frequent the Strip. Those stampeding herds of kittens and puppies ameliorate some of the pretension, even if they only compound the general WTF-ness. But, like they say in the movies, it’s so crazy it just might work. The spot’s certainly a conversation starter and, for that reason alone, probably should be counted a success.

[…] New entry: Fellini comes to Vegas https://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/stiffs-and-georges/?p=4888: New entry: Fellini comes to Ve… http://bit.ly/aOQZhp #Vegas […]
The TV commercial about the Cosmopolitan is one of the strangest commercials I have ever seen. With all the animals I thought they might show a picture of Noah (from Noah’s Ark).
very strange…yet I liked it!
I think the slogan is a good one though, and ultimately the commercial will reinforce it. That’s a change of view from the first seeing a couple days ago, where I thought the commercial failed to do anything for the resort, but with the proper campaign on ‘wrong’ I think they’ll find their mark, and of course LVCA is probably going to kick themselves that a resort will have have found Happens Here v2.0.
Hmmm…
This commercial needs something. I know! How ’bout a Fletcher Jones lookalike standing in front of a bank of slot machines, holding a puppy, promising to give away a puppy with each jackpot?
BTW, for nostalgia, check out this blog where posters talk about old Vegas TV commercials:

That’s right, Edna!
