The jokes have changed over the years, but the truth is, Las Vegas has always been good for a laugh. Funny is funny, whether it’s baggy-pants burlesque or cutting-edge monologues. From the earliest days of Vegas entertainment, the showroom doors were open to comedians and they barged right through them.

Joe E. Lewis, Buddy Hackett, Shecky Greene, Redd Foxx, Phyllis Diller, Don Rickles all defined a distinctly Vegas ethic through their boozy brand of humor. Then, stand-up comics like Jerry Seinfeld, Rosie O’Donnell, Tim Allen, and Drew Carey rose from the franchised comedy clubs, struck gold in TV land, and returned to fat paychecks in the showrooms.

Today’s five comedy clubs put on one or two shows a night with everyone from up-and-comers to the hottest names in stand-up. You experience a true Vegas tradition at these clubs. And who knows? You might even catch the next Henny Youngman.
