Casinos are notorious for keeping temperatures low year-round.
In the summer months when outside temperatures soar well above 100 degrees, there's a 40- or 50-degree discrepancy! The indoor temperature can be hard to adjust to and it's not uncommon to catch a cold or a chill here in the summer months, even if it's 115 degrees outside. Locals planning on remaining in a casino for any length of time in the summer always bring a sweater. But whether you do or don't have a light wrap, it's usually a relief to step outside, even in 100+plus temperatures. Depending on your tolerance for heat, that can short-lived.
In the winter, indoor and outdoor temperatures are closer and it's usually warmer inside than out, as it should be.
Several years ago, we phoned around a few casinos to find out what standard temperature they maintain and discovered that some are significantly warmer than others: MGM Grand 65 degrees; Paris 68 degrees; Excalibur 70-71 degrees; Golden Nugget 74 degrees; Gold Coast 68 degrees. These temperatures might be a little different now at the properties, depending on a number of factors, but we can assume that they still accurately reflect a indoor ranges from 65 to 74.
