2013 MLB Props Reds win Division -140.
Easy one for me. Best team in that division. Will get some push back from the Pirates and Cards but there isn't anything not to like about them.
Phils -3 win more games than White Sox -115 (5Dimes). I'm bullish on the Phils, not on the Pale Hose. Philly was crushed by injuries last year. Never had a chance. This team still has a good rotation, offseason adds will help the pop in the lineup and the pen will be strong. The Wsox will hit their share of 3 run homers but I expect bullpen pitching problems, a lack of speed and three teams in the division who are better than they are will put them at 76-78 wins. There is way too much upside to the Phils.
Washington -3 win more games than Toronto -115 (5Dimes). A big overreaction to the moves Toronto made this past winter. Remember, this team was outscored in 2012 by 68 runs while winning 73 games. And now, they are expected to win 90? Maybe I'm wrong but that is a big jump even with all the adds. One thing is certain: The Nats are one fine club. Excellent starting pitching and bullpen, strong starting lineup, a team built to win 95 games this year. Even if the Jays can get to 90 wins I don't see that good enough to catch the Nats.
Marlins over 63.5 wins -125. They had horrible chemistry last year, the manager was a disaster and they traded away the team as the season unraveled. Still, they won 69 games and with a rotation that is "serviceable", an "ok" infield and "better" outfield they can win up to 69 this year, too.
Indians over 77.5 wins -145. Somebody else pounded this before I got to it. Like Toronto, Cleveland made some major additions, all to the good and this win total is much more likeable. They upgraded the managers spot ( a major upgrade in my opinion), revamped their offense (this team will be fun to watch), made major improvements on defense and even added much needed help in the rotation. I don't think this team will collapse like they did last year after the all-star break. They will be felt in that division and I won't be surprised if they make Detroit look behind their shoulders.
Mets under 75 wins -140. Young arms on this staff make this team in the upper 70's in wins on the upside but a bad set of arms in the pen and questionable defense make me say "wait until next year". This team will compete but they are still a year or two away, I think.
