They call certain guys at the race track "form freaks". They analyze every little aspect of info available right down to when the horse last took a dump and try to attach some weight to it. We've reached that point with the sabermetrics guys on some stats. Correcting age-old misconceptions is great, like putting a better valuation on Stolen Bases then what was previously thought. Some stuff is not so great even if it was previously "unknown".
