Blue Jays/Yankees This afternoon JJ Reyes is looking to win for the first time in 28 starts. If he doesn't win, my understanding is he ties the ML record set by Matt Keough in 1978 for starts without a victory. Reyes hasn't won a game since 2008.
I bet the Jays +1.5-130. I don't think it is a bad price. Reyes actually went 7 shutout innings his last start and then the Jays bullpen blew it last Friday against Houston. I saw him pitch earlier in the year and he didn't look too good. I think he was pretty close to losing his job a few starts back but he was getting better and then had the last start which might give him a little job security.
No Yankees have batted against Reyes which seems surprising but that is what I read in a review.
Garcia goes for the Yankees and he's not pitching as well recently although he's exceeding my expectations. Bautista has had success vs. Garcia and the Jays have hit below expectations so far this year but they're still pretty loaded in the lineup and I'll hope they do some damage today.
The Yankees are just overpriced in general so I'm rarely betting on them if ever and the Jays can absolutely play with the Yankees over a season series and I guess I'm hoping for the Jays to be focused for Reyes in his historical situation. Hopefully Reyes is focused.
