Interesting Scored First OU Records from 2012

Interesting Scored First OU Records from 2012 Games in which the Pirates score first are 16-39-2 OU this season. Is there an assignable cause for this? Perhaps the Pirates play small ball with a lead? Games in which the Astros scored first are 42-20-4 OU this season. Is there an assignable cause for this? Perhaps the Astros getting on the board first wakes up the opponent's offense(?). Can this be exploited by in-game wagering? Comments/Insights welcome. Prof M.

Is there a correlation with blown saves? I watch a lot of Astros games, and especially during the past six weeks they've been abysmal in the late innings when ahead. (In fact, the Reds have won more games than the Astros in Houson since the All-Star Break.) Anyway, blown saves mean more runs. Is there a general correlation regarding OU and pitching staff WHIP? I wouldn't expect it, but the Pirates have pitched well this year.
