Lincecum Dichotomy

Lincecum Dichotomy Tim Lincecum is off a fine start in which he went six and two-thirds and allowed five hits and no walks in Arizona. Since the start of the 2009 season, the Giants are a perfect 9-0 with Lincecum when they won on the road and his WHIP was one or lower in his last start. Timmy produced a quality start every time and the Giants won by an average of 4.2 runs per game with four of the nine shutouts. See for yourself with this SDQL text: starter=Tim Lincecum and s:SWHIP=2009 The only one of the nine that the Giants did not win on the run-line was a 6-5 win in which the bullpen allowed three runs. On the other hand, the Giants are 0-6 since 2009 with Lincecum when he had a WHIP of at least 2.25 in his last start. See for yourself with this SDQL text: starter=Tim Lincecum and s:SWHIP>=2.25 and season>=2009 Only one of the six starts was of the quality variety and the Giants have lost these six games by an average of 4.0 runs. Every one of the six losses was by multiple runs. The former of these two applies today (9/12/10). Prof Meyer
No dichotomy for me. A great weekend if you like pitching, this series. Latos is the pick today.
Lincecum vs Latos? I'm not saying that the existence of the dichotomy makes the Giants a better than 50% play. I'm just saying that, in my opinion, 140 is too much to lay with the Padres. If I was making a true line (not a line that would draw equal action), I would make the Padres -110 and the Giants +100. It's baseball. Who knows? Prof M.
The total on the game is 5 1/2, not sure I have seen that before.
The total on the game is 5 1/2, not sure I have seen that before.
there was a 5.5 on Tues 9/7--LAD/SD

Happy to admit I was wrong about this one. After fading the Giants for six weeks, I am now neutral on them. I'll take the Rockies heads up vs both SD and SF, though.
