Mark your calendar for Monday: Tim Lincecum's time has come

Mark your calendar for Monday: Tim Lincecum's time has come He has not looked good for weeks. It's not just the walks. It's the numerous three-ball counts. He is good enough to get away with it, but it has to catch up to him sometime. This guy is a lot like Nolan Ryan on paper, in that he can walk guys to face the ones he would rather pitch against, but Ryan did that shit on purpose. Remember, Lincecum is still in his early 20s. He's a two-time defending Cy Young winner, and he plays in a city full of fun. If he manages to get through Washington tonight, his square numbers will still look good, but when Ubaldo Jimenez comes to town on Memorial Day for a 1 p.m. start, you have a rare opportunity to get him with plus money when he should be a favorite. That it's Memorial Day increases the chance that Tim goes out and parties the night before. Remember, he is just a kid. In addition, the weather here has sucked ass all month. This weekend we are finally getting a heat wave. Who wants to stay home on a holiday weekend when the weather is finally cooperating? Not Tim Lincecum, I say. Take it for what it's worth. As I like to mention, I am a fan first and a bettor second, but Ubaldo Jimenez +150 is a tremendous value, and I can see this line being even higher if Lincecum does well on paper tonight. (Ubaldo is also pitching well tonight, FWIW, but he is still not as well known as Tim.) PLAY COLORADO AND THE OVER (if 7 or less)
The secret is out. I'd taken the Nationals today because of his previous starts, but now the line will be reduced next week. Still think it is a good value because he will still be favored. He's not hurt. He just isn't focusing.

As a perennial observer of Giant play, I, too, noticed Tim's fatigue factor mounting. I believe we will still get value going against Timmy but I would not be surprised if he misses a start soon. That is what he obviously needs. GL, RUDY
Overnight opening lines: SF -110 and 6 on the total!!!

Well, you can't do much with the line. Maybe a small play on Colorado. But you have to pound the over. The Giants used four relievers over 3 1/3 innings, and the Colorado pen used two over 3 2/3. Weather tomorrow should be 65 and windy. It might still be overcast. The heat wave is ending today for them.
