I've found the best way to win at baseball is to concentrate on a division and watch as many games as possible that feature teams from said division. If you can mentally filter what the TV guys say, you can actually learn a bit about the team that way. It's hard to follow more than a handful of teams, though. This is also another way to stay ahead of the curve regarding injuries, although Twitter is another method for accomplishing this.
