MLB for Thursday, Sept 23rd 902 Pittsburg UNDER 9 -115 (Betjam)
Suppan/Burres
Two teams going in opposite directions but both pitchers are on the upswing, here.
Pit pen has been better than St Louis. I almost looks like the Cards have thrown in the towel and are crying uncle.
Suppan has owned the Pirates over his career going 15-3 although his ERA is just over 4.00. After a 2 week stint in the bullpen he pitched well against the light hitting Padres.
Burres has a great ERA at home, 2.32 in four starts and 3 relief appearances.
And, we have an umpire behind the dish who continues to play under the total. James Hoye has called 24 of 31 games under including his last 8. Only his last game hit 6 while the previous 7 hit 5 or less.
We'll need the Cards pen to step up and play like men. Suppan won't go past 6. I expect Pit to pitch and play well as they are on a nice 5 game winning streak.
Let's go under 9.
The total will drop. It has in a few places already.
