Prof Meyer's MLB Play 9/25

Prof Meyer's MLB Play 9/25 CHICAGO +145 over St Louis – The last time the Cubs faced Chris Carpenter – ten days ago -- they won 7-3 as a 180 dog in St Louis. Carpenter has not gotten the cash in this spot. The Cardinals are a dismal 0-7 on the road with Carpenter when he is seeking revenge for a team loss the last time he started against this opponent. Yikes. Also, the Cardinals are 0-4 when Chris Carpenter starts as a road 140+ favorite vs a team that has lost at least their last two games. As a team, St Louis is 2-14 THIS season on the road when they are off a win in which they never trailed and it is not the first game of a series – including 0-6 as a favorite of more than 130. Chicago may not be a good team, but they do not take kindly to getting their butts whipped in front of their home fans. The Cubs are 20-3 at home when seeking immediate revenge for a five-plus run loss in which they never led. Continuing with this theme, we find that Chicago is 6-1 as a dog of more than 140 when they are off a loss in which they had at least three times as many hits as runs. Their starter had a quality start every time. We expect nothing less from Coleman here. Focusing on the fact that this is a divisional matchup with the Cardinals well ahead of the Cubs in the standings, we find that Chicago is a very profitable 23-22 as a 140+ dog vs a divisional foe that is ahead of them in the standings while the Cardinals are a money-burning 18-26 as a 140+ favorite vs a divisional foe that is behind them in the standings. We think the Cubs are better than 50-50 to win here. Grab the nice price. MTi’s FORECAST: CHICAGO 6 St Louis 3
