We were originally going to back the Angels in this spot and will throw a few on them but when we saw this total set at 9.5 in this battle of first and second place teams we had to jump on the UNDER. Joel Pineiro (3-0, 1.11 ERA, 0.70, WHIP last 3 starts) has been simply untouchable with total command of his sinker. Scott Feldman is the “X” factor but we have seen an improvement of late despite his last performance which was a poor one against the lowly Pirates. The Texas relief has been excellent and well rested. A combination of Feldman, who will give up a few, and the Ranger relief, in conjunction with Pineiro’s ability to shut down the opponent, makes this one an UNDER play even with these two potent lineups. Note that the Rangers (.283 overall avg.) hit .257 on the road and the Angels (.258 overall) hit .250 at home.
