Sell Astros / Buy Rockies

Sell Astros / Buy Rockies Stros are headed to where few venture..looking up in the standings at Pittsburgh. I feel bullpens and 1 run games have as big of effect as any on team totals. A couple terrible losses and teams fade fast n furious. Who is getting outs here ? Projected Bullpen CL RHP Brandon Lyon SU RHP Wilton Lopez SU RHP Mark Melancon MID LHP Fernando Abad MID RHP Jeff Fulchino MID LHP Ryan Rowland-Smith ## LR RHP Aneury Rodriguez The Rockies actually took two of the Stros pen Lindstrom and Paulino and while they may be far from reliable at least they improved with some depth. More impottantly, letting Beimel walk was a serious addition by subtraction. Tulo missed 39 games last year and getting a full year from him and CarGo means my money is going over. Stay healthy
Hope you didn't have the Stros last year like I did HUGE under. I believe they had the best record or one of them after the break to beat me by one game. This was after trading away their "stars".
I didn't but it was borderline ridiculous with 4 game sweep at Phily and and then 3 sweep of the cards to win 8 out 10 in a tough stretch. Going into the final game they had lost 9 of 11 just to give you a shot...I would of bet Figuera as a dog to hedge out if not fully get out of the season total bet. Hopefully you did...
Nothing can out do the Colorado Rockies debacle. Hottest team in baseball at the time with 16 games left in the season. Needed 2 wins out of final 16 to win season OVER wins. Assholes went 1-15....Even had Jimenez pitching next to last or last game (can't remember)... Dude threw like 9 or 10 innings of shutout baseball and these scrubs couldn't get a run. Lost 1-0 in extra innings. I read somewhere at the end of the season that they had the lowest team batting average over the course of 15 games that they had ever had in franchise history during that stretch. It was quite the brutal beat.

Good reminder that season total bets are 162 games more excruciating. That is crazy...I remember them folding very well. That got me to thinking when will books step their game up and start putting out run totals scored and given up for the year. Haha. Be nice to see a options chart based on run totals.... I mean it has to come someday... right ??

I already find your input refreshing. But not so fast on the Astros............ This is a young team with a tremendous amount of potential. Last year from June 1 on they went 59-52 (53%) which is an 86 win clip on a full 162 game schedule. They had the third lowest (NL)team ERA in the second half of the season. Teams of this nature tend to build on their prior year's late season performance. They are listed at Bookmaker at 72.5 games. I'm buying despite their relief looking like garbage on paper. Relief has a way of working itself out when a team is playing well in all other facets of the game. Also, beatable teams in their division. PROJECTED LINEUP: 1. CF Michael Bourn 2. SS Clint Barmes 3. RF Hunter Pence 4. LF Carlos Lee 5. 3B Chris Johnson 6. 1B Brett Wallace 7. 2B Bill Hall 8. C Jason Castro As for the Rockies, agree, they look like a "buy" but not for me. Tough division with the Giants coming back with basically the same team with one more year's experience and others, D'backs and Dodgers, beefed up. GL, RUDY
Much appreciated insight. I am usually very careful about the paper look BUT the most success I ve had betting baseball is betting bullpens. As much as I love betting lineups and SPs as the next man...it is a power struggle not to. Haha. The paper trail on the stros says bottom 5 BP.... I m actually reconsidering Colorado Rocks...totally overlooked they lost 15 of 16 to finish the year. Getting off to a slow start is a real possibility here. Thank you Burger for the reminder..
good thread I like the stuff you all put out.
