the team formerly known as 'the wriggles'

the team formerly known as 'the wriggles' can't believe the old fkr up and quit today. According to Werth, they (players) are the one that hit the balls and make the pitches, therefore it wasn't a big deal, as if "nothing will change" regarding their hot streak. I personally think Riggleman sucked, but I also agree in principle with why he left. I'd say the manager matters less when you're winning, I mean, you just keep doin what you're doin. Any thoughts? You guys think they will go up or down and how much does the manager matter on this club?
He should have finished out the year. He's got a good young team on a nice run. He would of had more ammunition at the end of the year to sign a contract. Instead, he quits on his team in the middle of the year, and doesn't honor his contract. Have fun finding another job.
yea, that's fair. I could see keeping him on the one year at 600k for 2 straight years, but 3 straight? that's ....pretty...lame. I guess I see his side as far as they were hot, who knows if taht pile of shit will ever get hot/ improve all that much going forward...but I can't disagree with anything you say Red. Now, what if they tank and finish 10 below .500? Was that at least a smart move by him as far as going for it when he did? As for another job, I think they'd not hire him because he's a moron before they would not hire him for quitting.
he probably got him some tang tang and she filled his head up with a bunch of BS, made him feel bulletproof

wow, closer blows up, then the set-up (in after the closer??-- I did not see all of the game) man gets punked by AJ peirzinzky on the last out...yet theY still hold on. Wow.
That was a sick game- I bet the Nats and have Jorden Zimm on my fantasy team. They blow the lead for him in the 9th on a 3 run pinch hit homer from a guy who has hit 1 all year, them A.J. hits the homer with 2 outs to tie it up again. Thankfully they pulled it out though.
Riggleman's managerial resume wasn't that great to begin with. What has he really done to demand a contract extension in the middle of the year. They are playing good ball yes, so maybe it wasn't a bad time to ask, but when it got shot down, finish up the year. What is the worst that could happen. If they don't rehire him, he would most likely be a candidate for another managerial job.
NATS have a great young team. Morse at first is decent, and their middle infield of Espinosa and Desmond are young and fast. Zimm is an all star at 3rd. They just signed Worth, although their OF still could use help. When Stras comes back next year, he and Zimm will make a great 1-2 punch, and they could go sign another pitcher. Their bullpen has been solid, as their middle relief and closers have ERA's under 3.00, and average a strikeout an inning. The future is bright for this team. Another reason why I was surprised he walked.
Who would pass up the opportunity to manage Strasburg and Bryce Harper? If Ryne Sandberg is really that upset about Quade keeping the job, he should be giving Washington a phone call. This is exactly the opportunity he has been waiting for.
I hadn't heard that about sandberg. That would be pretty ironic if he got the nats job. I guess they could be for real, I haven't watched them as much lately, I know their closer looked scary good earlier this year. And no, we musn't forget about bryce. I know they still made a lot of dumb plays at critical times this year, maybe that's working itself out for them. Success breeds success.
