What we can learn from the Cubs/Mets, mother of all bad situations for the Mets 1) 20 inning Saturday marathon.
2) Sunday night game
3) We correctly conclude the Mets are toast flying home, and bet the Cubs -118 on the overnights.
I bet it. I then donked and forgot about it.
However, it was such a good story I should have fired back +133 on the Mets at post. These 'good stories' you see in every sport, and they all have the following in common
1) The opening line oddsmakers may have already shaded the line for the obvious bad situation.
2) The bettors playing the openers are certain to spot the situation and bet it
3) Every semi sharp service in the country jumps on the bandwagon and releases it.
4) The line is almost ALWAYS over corrected at post, as a sharp 7th grader can spot the play, meaning 1/2 the country betting baseball has landed on the Cubs.
