Bluehorseshoe 2012 NCAA Football Plays College Football season is here. I am going to post some college football plays and write ups in this thread. For anyone new to this site, I am recreational player. I enjoy the action and like to post plays and write ups to get different perspectives and promote discussions on games. I posted NCAA football plays only through November of last year and my record was bad, I believe it was 49-63-1 before I finally called it quits after a 1-9 week and focused on college basketball.
But that was then and the joy of a new season is here and I am a firm believer in being aggressive at the start of just about any season but especially the college side. All plays will be 1 unit plays based on laying 110 unless otherwise noted. Here we go.
136 Akron +24
Why not start the season taking a program that arguably could be the worst team over the last two years? Akron has won two games in two years and will have a significant talent gap with UCF, but I do think they can cover this at home kicking off college football season on a Thursday night. New coaching staff for the Zips; I do believe Terry Bowden and Chuck Amato will at least get this program in an improved direction and the new energy should help. For me though this play is as much of a play against UCF as it is on Akron. UCF returning many players from a team that did not win a road game last year. Furthermore of course is the uncertainty as to when the NCAA sanctions will take place as the appeals process plays out; I think this can only be a negative for the players and the coaches. UCF has been an overpriced team last year. I also perceive O’Leary to be a coach who implements an ultra-conservative offensive style that can really get the UCF offense bogged down at times. Big advantages here for UCF on the O-line with very good RB core, I think that is probably what will hurt the Zips the most but I think the Zips will be able to get just enough points to stay inside the number.
More to come in the next couple of days, I am looking forward to the season.
