But this has not been the wide-open, quick-strike passing offense of recent vintage. The Bearcats, who lead the Big East with 239 rushing yards per game, have done most of their damage on the ground. "We have confidence that we can run the football," coach Butch Jones said. "We've invested a lot of time and effort and energy into our run game."
As a result of those two brief appearances, Collaros has averaged only 173.7 passing yards per game, which places him seventh in the league in a category he led last year. He has played only one full game - UC's 45-23 loss at Tennessee.
