Golden Nugget College GOY Plays

Golden Nugget College GOY Plays Good crowd of people betting the early June CFB GOYs today at the Golden Nugget. Bettors were allowed to make five bets each time in line (up from three in previous years) to win up to $1,000. Probably 15 people in line during the first two cycles, with most appearing to bet the max each bet. Lines were up promptly at 1 p.m. and, 45 minutes later, the heavy flow of action had settled to a trickle and many of the lines had moved a point, some more. Kudos to sports book director Tony Miller and the gang at Golden Nugget for providing such a unique sports betting opportunity three months before the season's opening kickoff. Again, they widely publicized the date and time of the openers, inviting some of Vegas' sharpest cappers to take their best shots. They even publicized the openers in a couple of places hours before their unveiling, giving us bettors a little bit of a running start. Here are the plays I made at the Nugget: 10189 Georgia -11 (at Tennessee) 10048 BYU +7.5 (vs. Texas) 10360 West Virginia +11 (vs. Texas) 10330 Purdue +17 (vs. Ohio State) 10165 Arizona State +4 (vs. Notre Dame in Arlington) 10100 Florida -12 (vs. Tennessee) 10060 Arizona State Pk (vs. Wisconsin) 10384 Louisville -17 (vs. Houston) 10381 Michigan +3 (at Northwestern) 10494 Baylor +8 (vs. Texas) 10365 Auburn +8 (at Tennessee) Good luck, Paul

Thanks for sharing PSTONE ... hoping to drop into the Golden Nugget this week to see which way these lines have gone since being posted.

Brutus Bear: Thanks for the update! Hope you found a few plays that caught your interest. How about those Trojans this year? On paper, they really have the look of a Top 10-type team, but, frankly, I'm leery of their underachieving ways under Kiffen. Good luck this season, Paul
Paul ... Didn't have time to do more than get the new sheet and run ... HOWEVER, will be staying at GN next week Tue/Wed and plan to review between now and then, hopefully place a couple of bets. As far as USC goes ... QB Wittek is obviously the biggest issue ... lack of experience the biggest drawback. Talentwise, they appear to be loaded. Glad Monte Kiffin is gone but the "D" has some serious holes in line, linebackers and defensive backfield, so that is a work in progress. Against the "weak sisters" they should outscore almost anyone. A quick glance at the sked doesn't seem overly daunting. Kiffin is more of a problem than a solution ... the team really lacks discipline and cohesiveness ... Carroll had both as well as the respect of the team.
