[B]#139 Virginia +10.5[/B] _ Mike London’s Cavaliers certainly posted a lackluster performance in last week’s fortunate home escape against placekicking-challenged Penn State. Something about double digits here that just doesn’t pass the smell test. I’ll expect the Wahoos to rebound with a stronger effort Saturday and perhaps put a scare in the Rambling Wreck.
[B]#164 Wisconsin -14 [/B]_ Let’s do the math. Russell Wilson transferred into Madison last summer from NC State as a graduate student, ultimately picking the Badgers over Auburn. Former Maryland signal-caller Danny O’Brien takes essentially the same route to Whiskey, so his results will be similar. Say what? Although some pundits adopted this simple, one-size-fits-all analysis, Wilson and O’Brien have virutally nothing in common _ besides the center’s backside _ to date. Still, 14 is cheap here and Utah State is likely to have a small hangover from last week’s victory over in-state rival Utah.
[B]#194 Troy +16.5[/B] _ Through the years, the Sun Belt dwelling Trojans have had home success against the likes of Missouri and Oklahoma State. This is, however, the first time that Troy has played a Southeastern Conference opponent on its home turf. Mississippi State is leaps and bounds better than Troy, but the Trojans have all the emotional advantages in this spot and should be able to stay within the number.
