Thursday NCAA road faves It's somewhat rare that teams on a short week that must travel for the
game on a Thurs in the NFL or NCAA get bet up. The advantage for the
home team is just too well-established. Last week in the NFL the SF 49ers
did get bet up as an already 3 pt fave and covered easily. Last weeks two
home teams on Thurs failed to cover (Iowa St was off a bye as the visitor
so not a short week for them). Prior to that Thurs night home teams were
4-1 ATS playing vs a team on the short week.
303 Texas and 307 UCLA are both off bye weeks so the short rest does not
apply. WKU did play last week but ULM lost their QB for the season last week
and the backup is an unknown quantity at this point. That is the reason for the
line move on the road team in that one. Regardless, having all three road teams
open as favorites and then get bet up even higher makes one have to
take a hard look at these three home dogs. The buyback will come on these
games at some point. If 304 Iowa St ever hits 10 that would certainly be the
buy point if you prefer the Cyclones. On 306 ULM it would probably be +7.5
and on 308 Utah I think it goes no higher than the +6 that is starting to show
this morning. Will take that +6 today and take my chances it goes no higher.
