2011 MRB list posted

Just a comment. I have been a subscriber since near the beginning.

The newsletter
I saw an ad for a sample issue for $5?. Took a chance. Thought I had found a treasure! I think I paid $35/year (a lot more than now with an inflation adjustment added). Counted down the days for each issue. Hard copy only, no MRB, no forums etc.

The MRB
Really got enjoyment out of the book from its beginning until a few years ago. Getting a little long in the tooth for coupon runs and get comps for most things covered by the book.

The Forums
Now the forums are the best part of the LVA package for me. I read them daily with my morning coffee.
I feel I know more about Vegas than 90% of the people living there yet learn something on these boards almost every day.

And that is how I feel about the 2011 MRB.

PS: Wish contributors to these forums could learn to disagree without being disagreeable. That would greatly improve the forums.

Hear, hear, KSeitz!
Well, I'm someone who does not use the MRB a whole bunch.
Probably a few each year.
I can't put my finger on it but I think the book is a little lighter than in the past.
Perhaps it's the match plays that went south last year.
Perhaps it's that the 50% of at the buffets seems to be gone.
I recall this was a big deal for people who went solo to LV.

I have never used a buffet coupon in my life so I am saying this as an objective observer.
I have used a few match plays. I use them because it's a lot of fun to irritate the PB's.
I get to see the expression on their faces when I show it to them and say,
"Hey, is this OK to use here?" LOL

However, if the folks who use these coupies a lot say it's a good year,
I'll take their word for it.

Anyway, It's like Justmare says, it is what it is.

I joined many years ago strictly for the newsletter.

The boards are another added pleasure.

Hey, AC has not increased the tab of $50 per year since I joined.

I can't really think of another enterprise that has kept prices from escalating.

Looking at the big picture, I am happy with what LVA offers for my 50.

As stated its amazing the price has not increased. Consider how much the ACG has increased in the past 5 years and how much there coupons have gone downhill and you have to say Anthony continues to do a great job.

It has? I've paid the exact same price for the ACG for at least the past three years, if not longer.

This comment is way off base. The ACG can be found for the same price as 5+ years ago, possibly even cheaper with the discounters like Amazon and Overstock now on board.

And as for the quality of the ACG, there is no doubt the gambling coupons took a big hit this year. However, last year the LVA/MRB book was the one that took a big gambling dive whereas the gambling coupons in the ACG actually improved.

I just hope the Station 2-4-1 Buffets will allow a 50% off when dining alone like they did in 2010.
I was happy to see a few different coupon offers this year. While we are using fewer coupons as our comps go up, we still find ourselves using a B1G1F offer for a place we would like to try that is not covered by our comps. Removing the room offers from the book was a good move I believe--as long as they are still available online. I would like to see the gambling coupons increased--but there again if wishes were horses. While I love using the Palms coupon for a spa treatment, it would be nice to see other strip coupons for spa coupons--even free admission would be nice.
It looks like a good book again. I went back and looked at last year's, and it turns out we didn't use any of the coupons, mainly because we always book our rooms based on offers from the casinos we play at (comped) and pretty much all our meals were either paid for with points or also were comped. But just because we didn't use it doesn't diminish the value of the LVA membership. As others have stated, IMO the value in the information gleaned thru the newsletter and the forums and the website is well worth the annual cost. So I'll be renewing shortly and picking up the book when we're there in January just in case we do wind up using a coupon over the next year.

This is not mentioned in the "terms and conditions," so I doubt they will allow it.
