50 % off at Palms

In 2009 and earlier the back read that it was good for "Apparel" in the gift shop. Their Palms Logo T-Shirts were running like 28 bucks...so they could be had for $14. Of course more generic Las Vegas T-Shirts of similar quality could be found downtown for $3.99.

Speak to the manager?? What the f**k was I supposed to do? Try and find George Maloof? Like he would even take the time to even talk to a "Joe Punchclock" type like myself about a lousy coupon.

The same thing happened to me in July. I had used it in previous years on apparel and, stupid me, just assumed it was still applicable and didn't read the back of it. That's my mistake.

the clerk was nice about it, but I wound up not buying anything, so instead of geting some money, they got none of it...

Chilcoot was pretty nasty about the question asked. For someone who doesn't use commas or capital letters correctly, he is pretty snippy. I know, I know, every year we get this question, but as we can see, the rules do change so there can be confusion. I have always thought the best play was the Spa, but have used the coup twice at Gardunos for the Margarita Brunch. I have to check and see with the Palms if the salon counts as I was hoping for a mani-pedi but don't know if that is technically part of the spa. A I am a long time LVA member who, forgive me Chilcoot, still has a question on the rules from time to time.
ive used this coupon three years in a row! Both my wife and I get books, I always use mine in the spa for a massage, she uses hers for a facial.

In previous years we have used it in the gift shop and at the Mexican restaurant with no issues...

I've booked that $89 special with the $89 in resort credits. I'll be there in 11 days. I know I can't use the coupon for the room so I plan on using it at one of their restaurants and charging the remainder to the room. As i understand it, the $89 can't be rolled over in multi-night stays but must be spent by noon each day. At 11:00, I'll head to the gift shop to use up the remainder of our credits each day. Should be interesting.
The package comes with free spa access.
Excuse my ignorance, but I am trying to understand this coupon too. I know that this is an old thread being revived, but I like to search to see if my questions have already been answered before I ask them again in a new posting.

I am fuzzy about what kind of coupon this really is and how it is used logistically speaking. "All Purpose Comp", does that imply that it is only valid to hotel guest who charge things to their room? More specifically, Can I, Joe Justwalkedinoffthestreet Blow, Go to the buffet for breakfast ($7.99/person) with eleven and a half of my closest friends ($99.88), hand them the coupon and credit card then walk out with a receipt for $49.94?

Yes, you do not have to be a hotel guest. Just make sure you satisfy the conditions listed on the coupon such as being a member of the slot club (free sign-up).

Just an FYI, I went there in Dec. on a Wed. night for their Seafood buffet, " $25.00 " I told the buddy that I was with that I had a 50% comp, up to $100.00 shouldn't be a problem, I said lets eat and order some drinks etc. or some wine, whatever, and get the bill to $100.00 Well they rang us up at entrance and took 50% off of our buffet, not letting us add to the bill, So I guess anyone else thinking of doing this would be better off using this elsewhere, also as soon as they seated us they were there to take drink "alcoholic" orders, so there was no way to maximize the coupy at their buffet, we would have to pay full price for that.
Stillions, I too like to add to an existing thread rather than start a new one.

I noticed the wording in the 2012 version of the Palms coupon no longer includes the Spa. Has anyone tried to use this comp at the spa this year? Or has it truly ceased to be honored?

Was hoping to take advantage of this coupon for a Wednesday night seafood buffet for our group--love those crab legs--but according to LVA's buffet info the seafood buffet is on Fri and Sat, not Wednesdays. Wonder if anyone can confirm Lee's mention of a Wednesday night offering?
