Am I the only one?

Zero sum. Maybe if you only go once or twice a year. But for hard core ginders like me with over 1200+ nights in Vegas under my belt this book is no wash. I'm buying two!! Love your trip reports Pjstroh! Some day we should get together when our trips overlap and I will help you extrude more value out of your POV. I'll even drive...just post your normal Trip Report. I've even got a spoiled cow tongue to hide in an elevator! LOL just being fun!!!
The minimum we have saved from the rewards book was around $90 each. We feel that is more than worth it for us both to subscribe and get a book. The information we get is really helpful in addition to the book. I will say that some years we have saved easily over $200 per book. Just depends on how many trips and who is with us at the time.

This last year it was around the $90 amount because we didn't use as many dining offers because we had a lot of free money ($600) to use through the Caesars group because of our credit cards and Social Rewards. However since they are making Platinum now pay resort fees, I am sure we will go back to using the rewards book more for food and save our free money to cover the hotel costs.

We really appreciate all the hard work that Anthony and the team put into this benefit! We are looking forward to trying Wicked Spoon on our next trip in mid March!
I'll agree that over the years we too have used less and less coupons, and it has nothing to do with the quality of them, either.
If we're getting comped room/food/beverage, free nights and a decent amount of free slot play, there's not a lot of incentive to venture out.
but abandon LVA, not by a longshot.
1) we still enjoy the newsletter.
2) costs have been kept in line.
3) and from our perspective, perhaps most important to us is that we give anthony, deke castleman and many others a lot of credit over the years for making us better vegas consumers.
vegas is a great place to visit, but in our case it probably took 4-5 years to find our eventual niche along the boulder strip. I can remember having used lva coupons to stay at the old
stardust on the strip (boy I miss that place), and also trying our luck downtown, I'm sure through comments or items/coupons in lva.
I know the first time we ever stayed at sam's town was on a half-price, room offer from the lva coupon book. and we were just passing through for one night on our way to yellowstone park. now we probably average three trips a year to st.
to those of you who aren't as old as we are, use the coupons as a chance to get out and see different parts of vegas. and if you happen to hit upon a place you like, and it eventually turns into a semi permanent thing, remember it was lva that might have led you to the front door.
having said all that it would be nice if this forum was as vibrant as it once was. LOL.
Agree w/everything stated in nickles' post, other than his experience on Boulder Strip (we've stayed closer to the Strip).

When we started years ago w/LVA, I'd run all over town to use all the gambling coupons. Don't know if it's because I'm older now or have more of a "been there, done that" mentality, but I'll actually come home nowadays w/some of them unused! Still very grateful for not only the LVA deals today, but also the coupons of yesteryear to experience places I'd not otherwise have visited.

I'm game !

Lets do a coupon run sometime =)
Seems like every year someone is unhappy with the MRB because it does not contain coupons that they want. The MRB is what it is - an collection of potential money saving coupons for one to use if they wish. As a long time LVA subscriber I have read the whining about the content of the MRB over and over again. Apparently those who complain forget that the MRB is part of the overall package that one purchases when they subscribe to the LVA. To me , those of you who complain have several choices; 1) don't subscribe, 2) if all you want is the coupon book, try e-bay. I personally have seen MRB's sold there for more than it costs for a yearly LVA subscription, 3) subscribe and be thankful for the efforts that the LVA staff take each year putting the MRB together, 4) and my personal best choice for you who complain and whine - put a sock in it.
