American Casino Guide 2014 versus 2013

Chilcoot...it's not for free play. The coupon provides a free buffet once you accumulate "250 points playing slots". Here's to hoping joker's experience prevails!
I got the free buffet at Gold Coast playing only video poker and also used the freeplay at both Orleans and Gold Coast the same way.
I just left the rewards center 10 minutes ago with my free buffet coupon earned solely in VP.
I also used the ACG match play coupon, got two stuffed animals and two bonus gifts (weather vane and fry pan).
Good start for the day.
Woot! Thanks for the info cats and nugget. Looking forward to my free buffets in March!

Point of order.....I'm not complaining about ACG; it still provides me with great value. But the Boyd property coupons specify "slots", which would seem to exclude video poker. Anybody have more information regarding this?
I have seen slot clubs make a distinction between slot play and video poker play when accumulating points. But I have never seen a slot club make a distinction between slot machines and video poker machines when it comes to credits that can be used in "slots".

If Boyd is saying that you get $10 of play, I'd be confident that it can be used in video poker machines.

Actually, many machines wont allow you to use free slot play. I've never tried VP ....but I have seen many slots at the Boyd Casinos that wont accept free play. If you try to transfer it to the game it will give you an error message. This is also true with free play at El Cortez and the D.
Agreed, that I've seen.

But I haven't seen a slot club say that free play can't be used in any vp machines.
I also cut out the membership card and the coupons I may use that day, paperclip them together and slide them in my MRB. Makes life easier.
Good suggestions on cutting out the coupons .. I always thought it was a pain in the butt, whereas the Advisor book it much more conveniently sized ..

I once hit a royal on the 10 bucks in free play at the Orleans.

In addition to the membership card, I only cut out the coupons that I might use and leave the ones I absolutely will not use in the book and leave the book at home.

Once they are cut out I put them in alpha oder (others may prefer by location, or by type (e.g., food; gambling, other).

To cut them out of the book, I first tried to use scissors, but found it easiest to cut them out with a single edge razor blade (especially the left side cut closest to the binding). (Leave the razor blade home in case you lose big while in Vegas .

After I cut out the coupons and put them in order, I put them in one envelope, which makes them easy to carry in a back pocket, shirt pocket or coat pocket.

On the front of the envelope, you may want to write a list of the coupons you have in it.

YMMV
