Well, I had a very good experience with this promotion last October. I was in Vegas for four nights with my wife, daughter and grand-daughter and "snuck away" from the family for a couple hours on a Friday afternoon and went to Terrible's to use this coupon. I had no trouble at all at the Player's Club with the coupon. A very friendly person took the coupon, checked my I.D. and told me to come back for the freeplay after (if) I lost $100.
I planned on playing $1.00 video poker, either 9/6 Jacks or 8/5 Bonus since I had been practicing at home and knew the strategy for both very well. I don't usually have the bankroll to play at the dollar level, except for an occasional "potshot," but having the loss rebate gave me the chance to play for larger stakes. I planned to play until I won $100, at which point I would take my profit and move on, or until I lost the $100, and would then use the freeplay on 25-cent V.P. to recoup some of the loss. I was hoping to catch a quad for a decent payout.
It took a lot of checking of shortpay machines until I finally found a single-line, dollar 8/5 Bonus Poker machine. I fed in a $100 bill and started playing max credits. After about 15-20 hands (I was ahead $5.00), I was dealt three to a Royal in clubs and drew the other two for a $4,000 Royal Flush! I had quite an audience, as the machine was at the end of an aisle near the cashier cage where people were lined up to cash their paychecks.
After I was paid in $100 bills, I didn't feel secure in walking out to my car right away, since so many people had observed the jackpot and the hand-pay, so I went to play some blackjack. I won on a match play coupon and ended up winning another $65 on blackjack.
Now, I know that what happened was just luck, but the fact is that I went there specifically to use this promotion and probably wouldn't have been there otherwise. Also, I wouldn't have been playing at the dollar level without the promo.
I took the entire $4,000 home with me.
