Lose $100 at Terrible's

chipboy-

You must have $100 less in your pocket compared to what you walked in with, in order to get the $100 in freeplay refund.

a2a4seddie-

If you could successfully card pull, in theory, yes, you could fool the system into thinking you've lost more than you did. In reality, most every modern players club system can't be fooled by card pulling in the middle of a hand/spin, as it keeps tracking you until the end of that hand/spin, even if your card has been physically removed from the reader.

If you wanted to test your theory, you could card pull and once you feel like you've shown a $100 loss, wait in line at the players club and ask if you've actually lost $100 yet (tell them you haven't been keeping track or whatnot).
knagl,

I think pulling your card would probably work better with VP then if you're saying that a slot machine could still track a bonus win to your account after pulling your card. With VP you aren't creditted with winning anything until after you hit the draw button and see what your final hand is, no?

This is not in the spirit of the coupon, but couldn't you play a low stakes video slot machine like Goldfish 1 or 2, then just pull out your card anytime a bonus hits? Would the machine then not track your bonus win? This way, couldn't you trick the machine into thinking you lost $100 when you really didn't, then collect the $100 free slot play? If you were playing VP, you would just pull out your card if you were dealt a winner before you hit the deal button. Let the machines record the losing plays/pulls, and not record the winning ones.

Not sure if that would work given that your card would be in the machine when the hand starts, but I'm still wondering what the answer is to my scenario above.
Okay, thank you.

You have to lose the full $100 to get the $100 rebate. However, I do believe in your scenario, chipboy, that they would give you $80 in free play.

I don't believe card pulling works, but even thinking about something like that is unethical, in my opinion. Offers like these will be pulled if behavior like that is discovered.
I know most people plan to use the 100 offer for vp, however we used it on slots and on the free play hit for a $200 jackpot on a Lancelot slot. Have fun.

Correct, but that's not to say that the machine isn't communicating with the card reader throughout the process. For example, on one slot club system that is used in a few casinos in Las Vegas (the El Cortez comes to mind immediately), if you pull your card out mid-hand, the display will actually indicate, "CARDED SESSION IN PROGRESS" until the hand has been finalized (until you press the Draw button). Then, the display reverts to its attract mode ("insert your club whatever card"). While every system doesn't spell it out to the player like that, I'm sure that many of the systems do in fact receive information about the result of a hand/spin that started while the player was still playing with their card.

In a 2005 article (here), Bob Dancer said that he believed that card pulling, "is likely a technique whose days are numbered." That was over five years ago.

I'm not familiar with the players club system at Terrible's, and card pulling may work, but I wouldn't bank on it (there, or anywhere else).
If they offer it, sure. There aren't any restrictions on the games you can play to (potentially) lose your $100 buy-in, only restrictions on which machines you can redeem the freeplay on.

Because we got it so close to the new year, we agreed there would be only one play per member. So if you played it in 2010, you can't replay now.

We explained the proper strategy in the October LVA.

So, why did you let me print the new, second coupon, having already printed and used the Oct. coupon?
I guess it was possible that I printed the first one but didn't use it. You could have saved me a trip there to use the second coupon if you had alerted me. They confiscated the second coupon so it will really be a joke
if they decide you can use again this year.
OK, thanks for the clarification. So it's once per member, not per year.
