Well Monk here's what I think is the first of such stories.
I was there last Sunday night (1-22-12). I went to the players club counter an relinquished all of my coupies (MRB & ACG). In exchange for said BJ coupon, I was issued a slip of paper to be given to the dealer. I found an empty $5 Table. I always look for an empty table when using coupons to avoid annoying any existing guests. I handed the paper to the young Asian female dealer who promptly called over her supervisor a slightly older Asian female. I explained my interpretation of the coupon. "I give you this, and the first time I bust with a '22'; I push rather than lose." The Pit Boss argued, or at least with the language/accent barrier it seemed like she was yelling/arguing something completely different. Once I gave up trying to explain how I thought it was intended to work and listened to exactly what the Pit Boss was giving me I shut up and played happily.
She let me use this coupon as a "get-out-of-jail-free" card. What I mean is this, after all of the initial two cards were dealt and before the first player could act on their hand I was given the option of giving up and retrieving my bet back.
Me being a $5 - $20 per hand player was allowed to play at $25 a hand risk free. Well that was music to my ears. I bought in for $100 and played the coupon max $25 every hand. and it went something like this...
First Hand: I'm dealt a 14, dealer shows a Deuce. I'm thinking I could use the coupon and surrender the hand, but it's very early, I have 4 more hands worth of chips and she could possibly bust, so I stand and she bust +$25.
Second Hand: **Black Jack** niiiiiiiice +$37.50.
Third Hand: Dealt a 20, dealer dealt 18 +$25.
Fourth Hand: Loss, but didn't use the coupon; dealt a 17 dealer had a 20 -$25.
Subsequent hands: Three more wins with maybe a push slipped in there. I can't remember the composition of all of the hands, but +$25, +$25, +$25
Finally I was dealt another 14, but this time the dealer was showing a face card, so I opted to use my new found superpower and retrieve my wager without risk. By the time I used the coupon I was up $112.50. Well worth the cost of my LVA membership. I cashed out and moved on, but I would have loved to stayed and played at $5 to $10 a hand, but I had more coupons to use.
