MRB 2012 Coupons

I'm with you again rhousedj. If you look at the room rates you can see that there is an obvious demand in Las Vegas around NYE. Wouldn't it be proper for the self proclaimed authoritative advisor of Sin City to provide its membership at the times that they need it most. Just because you, drmilled, do not personally require your own book early doesn't mean that others won't either. Therefore, what is the harm of requesting an earlier publishing of the book and using the highly vaunted MRO to supplement those sacred last minute additions. btw drmilled, this is called a forum and it allows us, as paying members, the opportunity to openly voice our opinions/concerns. I know you have the same right to voice your opinion; but fyi, yours is not very helpful or appreciated.

stillions- in reply, I believe that the coupons are dated to expire at the end of each year. Also negotiations for coupons probably continue til the last minute each year. Therefore the completion of compiling the coupons for the next year's book makes it difficult to compile, put together, and get printed the newest MRB by the end of each year. I also believe that no matter when the MRB would be scheduled to be made ready ( for example, say July each year instead of January each year) that the day of said issue would not conform to someone's wishes. Since most all LVS subscriber's know that January of each year is the month of availability for the newest MRB, they should take into consideration that the book might not be available for release til sometime the first 10 days or so of said month. I also believe that some people are going to find something to be unhappy about anything that doesn't conform to their personal agenda. Whether you find my responses helpful or not, they are factual. If you choose to ignore the facts- that is on you. I could care less if the truth is appreciated by those who refuse to accept the reality of what is.

Yes, the coupons do expire at the end of each year. What does that have to do with wanting them at the start of each year? Yes, we understand negotiations are ongoing. We stated that an earlier deadline could be set (you like the arbitrary date of July so we'll go with that) and anything that comes in after that deadline gets bumped to the MRO. It seems to me that if the coupons, which are valid from the beginning of 2012 til near the end of 2012; were in the members hands before the start of 2012 then yes, it would conform to everyone's wishes, because everyone would have them for their entire useful existence. I am not griping out of personal conflicts with the schedule, but rather agreeing with a previous poster's suggestion that, Hey here is a way to have the 2012 MRB for the entire year of 2012!!! Yes we are currently forced to accept the reality that we must adjust our plans or make concessions around the release in January. Nevertheless, if everything in the world was just accepted and never improved upon, then... so many examples of innovative ideas I won't even begin to suggest just one. You portray yourself as a Doctor here. Do you ever improve your medical techniques as new knowledge or technology evolves? I recognize that "some people" are never satisfied or happy, but I am not one of them. The only thing that is making me unhappy right now is your insistence that this is the way it is, this is the way it has always been, and this is the way it shall always remain. True, everything you said is factual. I just have one question back to you drmilled; if the powers that be at LVA (LVS?) choose to act on rhousedj's suggestion next year, will you be able to accept the fact that it was a damn good idea?

All of you who have a problem with the current status of how the LVA operates and with the issuance of the MRB are free to start and run your own version of the LVA. Then see how "easy" it is to please everyone. I have been a subscriber for over 20 years and I know for a fact that the LVA subscription and POV/MRB have made my visits to Vegas much more enjoyable and worthwhile. As I have said many times, some people are never happy and always demand more, more, more. You should learn to appreciate and enjoy the invaluable wealth of information that the LVA provides. As for being a "pompous, arrogant, jerk" goes - you forgot to add "realist". Have a great day.
