New York City Bar Matchplay

Hey all,

I noticed theres a $20 matchplay for the New York City Bar just west of the Strip. I haven't been in, so I'm picturing a bar with video games including blackjack. It says "max bets" must be done, so is it "I play through $20 on max bets and then they give me $20 to bet through" or is it one $20 bet and they'll pay me double if I win? Thanks.

You sit at the very dark bar and flash a $20. They have you load that into the machine, and they immediately chase it with $20 bill of their own. They'll comp you a drink. There's also a slot club you can sign up for, you'll get a free spin for some free play if you hit the day's four of a kind.

I think they have the ability to know exactly how much you've bet, so be kind and grind through at least $40 worth of bets before you head out. They're trying to get you to play their low-pay 5-coin VP, so do that if you can. I don't think their machines have blackjack, it's a relatively unprofitable game for the bars, but it's possible.
