M mailers are based on prior play.
Not sure what the look back period is but we've generally found that $40k coin in per month gives you 2 free buffets for 2 people, $400 in free play and some room nights...4-6 per month. This mailer for out of towners is split for the first & second halves of each month.
Others will have different experiences but this has been ours.

Do you do the $40,000 coin-in in one day or spread it out into two or more to get the $400? The reason I ask is that for locals I know the mailers are based on daily average.

For us, it didn't matter if it was all in one day or spread out. From a practical point of view, we usually did half of the total $40K each of the two times we picked up free play.
Just a FYI since my previous post...three of us got our November mailer and they all went down even though out play was consistent. It pisses me off when this happens....I like transparecy and it's important to me that I know that if I give $X in play, they'll give me $X in free play, food comps, etc.
We're hearing that things may be changing more there come January when more Penn National people find themselves in management positions. I'm not of the mind that this will be good. We'll likely give them another $40K this month but if the offer doesn't increase for December, it's rape and pillage mode from here on out.
A real shame....nice property and close to home for us. I'm happy to be wrong about this and hope that this month was a slight aberration.
