... so is 2x your age in dollars?? if I am 40 I will get $80 in free play? it is not very clear. this seems to be an offer more for locals. most of us wont be in vegas on our birthday. I am tentatively scheduled to be there 2 days after mine. but I probably wouldn't earn a 1,000 same day points anyway. it is a nice looking offer though.
1000 same day points means $1000 fed through their machines. Assuming a 90% return you would need to be 56 for a statistical profit (or 8 if you find a really good video poker machine and also no one notices you're 8).

According to VPFree2, for most Video Poker it's $3 of coin in per point so that is $3,000 fed through their machines if you're playing any decent Video Poker!

I was so proud of my 8 year old joke I forgot to mention the VP calculation that went with it...
The problem with this promotion is that they're basically buying all your birthday time. Suppose you're 30, playing $1 VP, 5 coin at 15 seconds a hand. Assuming a 99.7% return you've lost $9. With $60 in freeplay fed back to the same machine, that's $59.82 or $50.82 profit. 3060/5*15/60/60 means 2.55 hours spent gambling on your birthday, plus maybe 10 more minutes queuing in the member's club, let's say 2 hours 45 minutes.

I will be downtown on my birthday and would stand to get a nice amount of free play with this promotion but cannot see spending the time to run $1,000 or $3,000 through their machines.

Any video poker player of reasonable acumen plays much faster than 15 seconds per hand. That's 4 hands per minute, 240 per hour. I'm pretty slow and I run through nearly 500 per according to the VP software.

Still, an excellent point by folks pointing out the actual coupon value. You pretty much have to be a serious player to start with and Plaza-comped to boot.
Hey Group,

I just now checked out Plaza's website and what I'm seeing is that they themselves have a Birthday promotion where you can earn up to 3X your age in points with details at the Slot Club Booth (but it doesn't say what the details are). Information on this is at: https://www.plazahotelcasino.com/casino/promotions.

So check that out!
