Rampart denies ACG matchplay use after LVA coupie

I was at Rampart Casino last Sunday around 1 PM. I used the $25 LVA matchplay and won. I played for about 10 minutes more and tried to use the ACG $10 matchplay. The pitboss would not permit me to do so even though I told her it was my second and last coupon. ( I had not been to Rampart in about 2 years) She then proceeded to read to me the back of the coupon that said only one coupon per player, or some such. I told her it was from an entirely different coupon promotion. It didn't matter. The irony is that I had just been to the Cannery, which I understand is operated by the same company as operates Rampart, and used the ACG and LVA coupons with no trouble (lost both).

I immediately colored-up and left the casino with a $35 profit. It should have been obvious that I was not a coupon abuser with a fistful of coupons jumping from table to table. It seemed lke a bad business decision to me. The table I was at had only one other player and the place was very quiet. There was no point in arguing for a $10 matchplay. The decision was made, and she wasn't going to change her decision. I went next-door to Suncoast, used a $5 matchplay, won, and played a while.
The same thing happened to me in April. Of course, there is no reason
to fight or bitch with the pit bosses. It's their house and you either play
by their rules or go somewhere's else.

Just one man's opinion.
My wife and I were personally there today 6-11-07 and WE BOTH used our individual $10.00 ACG matchplays along with our individual POV $25.00 matchplays using all 4 coupons with no problem whatsoever while playing craps---The dealer told the pit boss they were two different coupons with two different denominations without any issue...sorry to hear others who experienced difficulties.

Also, they were filming a movie about "hustlers" there with some grade B actors/actresses at an adjoining crap table...

The lunch buffet wasn't bad either and was very uncrowded.

There is one lady pitboss who does this. Been a couple other times with different pit bosses and none had a problem with using both.

asian lady, in my case.
It was an Asian woman in my case, too. I believe the dealer called her by name: "Shay," or something close to that. I won't be going back because it's too far off the Strip, and I have no other reason to head out there now. I would have stayed longer had I not had this experience. I played VP at the Cannery after my BJ loss. I'd have probably played some VP at Rampart too.

Rampart management should know of this inconsistency in the application of the policy toward coupons. Rampart casino marketing should also know.

While I'm at it, I also had a somewhat irritating experience with the Silverton $5 matchplay coupon from the LVA. I sat down at a table with my buy-in money in hand, along with the matchplay. I was told that it had to be verified at the Players' Club. I got up and went over there, but the line was so long, I decided to skip it. (I went back later, got it stamped, and won). I can see that they might want to record who has used the coupon to prevent abuse, and this may not be able to be done immediately at the blackjack pit. However, it seems like a foolish business practice. When a person has his money out and his butt in a chair, why send him away when you "have" him? The line was so long that I didn't go back to the table. It was only because I was staying at Silverton and found another time to use it that I even bothered to return. Wouldn't it be better for the pit to take down the player's card number, check ID, and get it to the right person rather than send the person away? By the way, I don't believe the back of the coupon said that it had to be verified at the Player's Club first. Most places don't require that. While it might be important to prevent abuse, there should be a better way than to send people away from the table for verification of a $5 matchplay.

Agree w/you Dorian. You would think that casinos would go out of their way to keep your butt in that bj seat in order to take your money. They use other methods to do that, i.e. free drinks, so why the hassle over a little $5 mp?
In regards to the Rampart deal, it sounds like the corporate policy re the coupons is not communicated adequately to the people on the floor. When I used mine, the dealer had to show it to the floorman, who okayed it. The dealer said to the floorman that the other day it was handled a different way with another floorman - don't know what that means except for the fact that all of the Rampart employees aren't on the same page. I don't blame them as much as management for not sending out a clear policy to the staff.
All of the Silverton Coupons in the POV say "Present coupon to the Player's Club to redeem" right on the front under the Silverton logo. I usually get all four coups validated at the same time, saves trips to the desk.

I was also turned away from using the ACG after I used my POV coup at Rampart, female pit boss, dont recall what she looked like.
I had no problems on the two occasions I used two coupons. In fact, they let me double down the whole amount, which is fairly rare these days.
Thanks, bigfinn. I missed that, and I understand, "them's the rules," but I still think there should be a more customer-friendly way to handle it, even if it means someone has to do an occasional run from the pit to the player's club.
