Rampart denies ACG matchplay use after LVA coupie

I was there mid-December and played my POV coupon first then my ACG coupon on the next hand. Had no issue with dealer or pitboss. I did play at an empty table and the casino was pretty quiet. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.
We were at Rampart last Thursday, 2-6.
I tried to play both coupons and was denied.
The pit boss (crabby, non-Asian female) said my wife could play one and myself one.
You'd think during tough economic times they'd be a little more customer friendly.
The first time last year that I tried to use an ACG matchplay coupon they told me I had to bring in the coupon book or the membership card (which I didn't have on that trip). The next time I brought in the book but they still would not accept it without the membership card. The dealer was on my side since I had been playing for quite awhile before I decided to use the coupon, but the lady pit boss was very adamant.
We visited Rampart on 2-12-09 and it will be our last time. The dealers were not friendly at all. We did use the $25 MP on BJ without any issues, but lost. However, while walking away, I heard someone ask the question "why do people come here to only play one hand". I am not for sure if the dealer or another player made the comment, but it was not a good feeling especially since we had already lost $175 at the 3-card poker table at that casino. I saved one $25 chip to use with my coupon. We did not feel welcomed at all and we won't be back.

we visited rampart on recently and were pleasantly surprised my wife played her matchplay at the roulette (with a nice male pit boss) and I played mine at the craps table...she had no problem but i had to first show it to the dealer, who told me to go get it ok'ed by the older lady (non asian) pit boss, when i showed it to her she told me to take it to the table first....i explained i had, and was sent to her...she grunted a little and told the craps boxman 12 feet away from her little podium to let it play...we both lost .....then we went to the bar and switched books and then switched tables, I went to play my other coupon on the roulette and she played her other on the craps table...no problem at all except we only won 1....so $20-$25 down we go to the circular bar, where "Betty" was working, to get a drink and try the VP...my wife hits a 4OAK and it makes her forget about losing the MP coupons...betty gave us excellent service, bringing us fresh drinks without asking, and she was the only bartender during our trip to offer me a chilled glass for my beer. I hit a 4OAK next and I too start to feel better...my wife then hits another 4OAK...all this in about an hour and a half. We were not impressed with the tables or personel there but "Betty" and the bartop machines made up for it...I think they were 8/5 BP ...you can do both books coupons here, just take them to different pits, and if Betty is behind the bar do yourself a favor, and take a break there. we wound up losing 3 out of 4 MP's and still left ahead.

They shouldn't have jumped on her for that, but rather should have asked her to push the bill forward on the table, and replaced the bill with a chip before play commenced.

Many places in Vegas don't allow money plays at all anymore, due to USC Title 31 regulations (they tend to confuse the dealer for cash-in recording purposes).

Not that I'm justifying their behavior by any means, just that most people probably don't realize that since July 2007 in NV, rules have changed on money plays, and casinos are taking a different view of them.

I think I should relay my experience - at the craps table I played the $25 LVA coupon on the pass line, and shortly thereafter pulled out my ACG $20 MP. The dealer initially didn't want to take it, but when I told the boxman/floorman (can't remember which) that it wasn't the same coupon but a different one, he said "sure, play it." BTW the craps game there was good, dealers know what they're doing, 20x odds and $5 minimum.
For years, the horrible Imperial Palace would give LVA coupon users a hard time if they tried to use more than one coupon in one visit. I also had this problem when using coupons out at Nevada Landing and Gold Strike in Jean. Frankly, I enjoyed the difficulty! I'd have to walk up to one table, play my matchplay, then hopefully sneak in the second coupon at another table. All 3 places were pretty strict about the coupons, so trying to use both in a single visit just added to the gaming aspect of it all. The IP always had a bit of a crowd, so that made it a bit easier, but those Jean, NV places were ghost towns inside, so I had to be quick.
Wow, muskeg, you gave this thread a huge bump. It is worthy of bumping.
