Riviera still offering free play for losses deal?

I had noted this for our next trip; then I noticed it was mentioned in the LVA July newsletter.
BUT when I go to the Riviera's site as well as advantage player, they are now saying new members get a free buffet (meh). I even googled "Riviera las vega free play for losses" & google pulled up the new member page on the Riviera but I cannot find that quote on the site anymore...:-(
It was actually part of today's Question of the Day:

"As an incentive to new players, those joining Club Riviera will have 50% of their initial losses (up to $100) rebated, provided you lose $200 in the first 48 hours of membership."

I'll check it within the next two weeks and will post here if it's accurate. If it's a buffet, I'll pass but post anyway.

The free buffet replaced the slot loss promotion.

I'm quite certain you're correct.

There's a billboard just north of South Point on the I-15 that says something along the lines of "new members sign up for a slot card and get a free buffet". That indicated to me that the loss rebate deal was dead. Haven't been there yet personally to confirm but will still try so as to get direct feedback.

So the buffet (in the Riv's opinion) is worth $100.00 bucks???
