SWest drink coupons

I've always been told that SWA takes their expired drink coupons. In other words, they never expire.

That was the policy, but the policy changed back in August last year. SWA started to issue coupons with an expiration date, the owners' name and last 4 digits of the owner's Rapid Rewards number. Rapid Rewards members were also advised that all outstanding drink coupons issued previously would expire 8/31/2011.

I was on a SWA flight a couple weeks ago and one of the first things they announced was that ANY expired drink tickets were no longer valid.

Thanks guys, good to know. But I guess that means the new ones are non-transferrable, since they have our names on them, right?
