Monday, May 28th is Memorial Day. Many of the LVA coupons are not valid on holidays. My question, does the holiday extend to Friday, Saturday and Sunday or just (for coupon purposoes), Monday, May 28th?
The definition of what constitutes a "holiday" can sometimes be confusing. We were at Rampart a couple of years ago and tried to use the bogo for the buffet, but were told we couldn't because it was a holiday. The holiday in question was either Yom Kippur or Rosh Hashanah- I can't remember which. We decided to stay and eat anyway, and it definitely wasn't your average buffet. Cloth tablecloths and napkins, and an assortment of offerings I've never seen before, or since.
"Casino Holidays" differ greatly from regular holidays. They consider almost every observance a potential holiday. Things like Valentines Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day are not real holidays, yet casinos consider them to be. This also varies property to property. Your best bet when wanting to use a coupon on one of these days is to assume it will be denied, but if it's accepted consider it a bonus.
Stungazed is exactly right, I remember trying to use a coupon at Gardunos at the Palms on Father's Day one year, and it was denied due to it being a holiday. I now figure that anything that could possibly be construed as a holiday probably will be, and plan accordingly.
Cinco de Mayo qualifies as a holiday for most every Mexican restaurant in Las Vegas, particular Garduno's. Praying the Palms' plans to remake it into a spots bar somehow collapse and it's still there next May
