11x points on nov 11...worth it?

Though I plan to endear myself to downtown joints (some more) with gringing at full pay JOB, I have options when in LV two weeks. The western has a super lunch special and dolla craps. But I read with interest todays news about the 11x points at orleans from 11 am until iforget. But No 9/6 JOB!! Bahhh. I am not a tier player in boyd joints, and I dont think this capped promo (11,000 points) would color up my card, unless i get advice. More importantly, the lowest variance game orleans has is 8/5 BP, which, though called full pay, is pretty far off 100%. Would my cashback from playing BP for 11x points get me close to breakeven over an 'infinite' number of hands? Thanks for any advice and Good Luck!
Hey jm,

First of all I was actually the one who tipped off the powers-that-be at the LVA that both of those promotions were going on on 11/11.

As for Orleans (at least according to the information from the VPFree2.com website), they seem to have 9/6 Bonus Deluxe (which is a Jacks Or Better based game) which offers a return of 99.64% (that is the correct return for the full-pay version of that game) and their Slot Club appears to pay either .10% in cashback or Freeplay plus an additional separate comps account and so at 11X points, that would be 1.1% in cashback or Freeplay alone plus on top of that some additional comps which would make 8/5 Bonus Poker return about 100.2% (with the cashback/freeplay part alone not including the comps) and 9/6 Bonus Deluxe would then have a return of about 100.74% (through the cashback/freeplay alone plus then on top of that additional comps) -- if all of this information that I'm giving you (based on what I'm seeing from the vpfree2.com website) is correct and accurate!

I hope that this helps you!

Players don't have a separate comp account at the Orleans. As it says in vpFREE2.com, points can be used for "Cashback OR Free Play OR Comps".

If you use your points for comps you get a better rate than if you use them for cash or free play - .167% vs. .10%.

Of course it may be possible to get discretionary comps from a host, but that is iffy.

Oops, I guess that I misread that. Thank you, LVRoyale, for that clarification.

Ok, jm, at 11X points you would have your choice of 1.1% of Cashback or Freeplay or 1.837% in Comps. Now if there is a 11,000 point cap, if it's $1 of coin-in per point, then 1.1% of $1,000 coin-in would end up being $11 of actual Cashback or Freeplay or $18.37 in Comps.

Oh, and jm, with the 9/6 Bonus Deluxe that I mentioned before, although it's full pay with that pay schedule, that game does offer a higher Variance.

about that cap thing. Do you really think they have this set up to only allow one thousand base points which can boost by 11x? I was thinking more like all day grinding at 9/6 JOB for 11x ten thousand or eleven, whichever they call the limit. I may be cheap/frugal, but I did more damage at the elcortez on 5x over several hours than I would garner at this, if capped so low. Just saying. Finally, is the boyd gaming site right? They indicate this promo drops at gold coast, rather than orleans. And I'm pretty sure I can find GC's full pay JOB. Thanks, and good luck!
Hey jm,

I only have responded to you (and posted) to what H. Scot Krause listed in the Slot Club bonus points section here on the LVA website (that it's at Orleans -- unless maybe Boyd changed where it's being held).

So, unless I missed this in the LVA Bonus Points link, the LVA put up in the "Today's News" section that there is a cap of 11,000 points (which I think means 1,000 points X 11). If that's inaccurate and it's actually at Gold Coast, then maybe that's the case but you definitely should check into whether there is a cap on the number of points that you can earn through this promotion.

If there is a good game to play this on with a lower volatility (such as 9/6 Jacks), I'd certainly encourage you to go for that.

I should also encourage you to make sure that if this promo is at Gold Coast, to make sure that the Royal Flush is paying 4,000 coins for the five-coin insertion. I say this because I have seen them have some of the machines with the Royal paying 2,500 coins!

thanks, I'll be leaving in 7 days and report after the trip; it may not matter to anyone by then, i guess. Good Luck!
The cap is 11,000 BASE points. Straight from the website.
Well if it is 11,000 BASE points, then that's not bad and so it would be up to 121,000 points that a person could get from their play on this promotion.
