Advice Needed

I have a problem with Caesars and I'm looking for advice on my best approach to get it changed if possible back to the way it was.

I was a Diamond player from about 2003-2016. In May 2016 I went to Tahoe on a trip and the boothling changed my number and gave me a new card. I really didn't think anything of it at the time and didn't realize that he wiped out my entire history at Caesars Palace which has always been my home casino.

I haven't played at either since the end 2016 when I noticed that CP stopped sending me offers. Previously I always had offers at CP and could get rooms comped almost any time I wanted just by booking online. This all stopped and I still get a monthly offer from Tahoe to this day even throught I haven't played there in over 4 years.

I would like to get this fixed and finally have both card numbers. I tried to call ATotal Rewards and they told me to call Caesar's Palace and talk to them. This was a couple of months ago before the sale, now I'm not sure what to do, since I never really had a host at CP and the one I did know of isn't there anymore. Does anyone know someone at CP who has been around and really knows their system? I would greatly appreviate it if you could pm me their name and then I can can email/call to see if I can get this changed. I'm still on the fence about going back to CP, and I've been with Boyd all along so I've been staying/playing there instead.

Any advice anyone has would be greatly appreccciated.

Thanks!

I'd go to the Host office at Caesars in person, with the old Diamond card and the one they issued at Tahoe, sit down with one of the Hosts and tell the story.  Explain how the Tahoe snafu appeared to wipe out all previous point data, after which time you received no more offers to stay at Caesars which is why you jumped ship.  But now you want to get back in with Caesars (at least say that you do).

You could do this in person at any Caesars property if you have one closer to you.   They'd probably issue you a new card with one of the old numbers, or maybe a new number since you don't have any TR points or tier points anyway after four years away.   Play on that card, get offers rolling your way.  Surf the TR web site for new player offers.

You might sign up for the Total Rewards credit card, which I understand confers immediate Platinum status.  I haven't done that so I don't know everything there is to know about it.  Good luck.

Whatever amount you played back in 2016 matters not at all. Not just Caesar's, but every casino company, only considers what you've blown in the last 6-12 months. And if there's a substantial time gap in your play, everything resets to zero. If you were Super Gonzo Diamond level, now you're Tin or Dirt, as the case may be. They don't want to hear about the gifts you gave them four years ago.

That said, there's nothing to be lost by trying to convince a slot host to reinstate you at some level higher than Dirt. Ask him to pull up your play history from 2016. Tell him that the only reason you haven't been giving money to Caesar's is that you've been caring for your dying grandmother. Emphasize that you want very very badly to return to his wonderful, exciting casino and that you've sold your house so you can have enough money to play dollar slots round the clock for weeks on end. (Yes, I'm saying...lie through your teeth.)

Your mileage, of course, may vary. As of right now, all the casinos, CZR included, are being very very very very very very very tight with offers---which seems ludicrous, given the current situation; they should be practising extreme generosity. So you probably won't get as far with the host as you would have last year.

One thing to try is to plan a weekday trip. The casinos are really hurting for customers Mon-Thu, with occupancy at about 35%---and declining. So you might be able to cut a good deal then.

And my suggestion of seeing a Host is not optimisim that a Host would take you on and return you to Diamond, but they are the only ones with an office and a desk and chair who may actually engage with you and have any authority at all to at least write you a lunch voucher (though that is rare these days too) or a 2-fer room comp or something.  Almost impossible to make such a connection on the phone.

He/she will give you the "your comps are based on tracked play" which you already know, and then send you on your way with "thanks for stopping in."  Might give you their business card, which is a start.  It takes a lot more now to make Diamond, which I'm sure you already know.

I will stop by and talk to them when I'm in town next month.

As always, please share with us how it went when you did.

If you don't play in one year you get no comps or mailers and lose all points. You have to start over if you dare. Strange though. I have not played in 10 years on strip. I got offerv3 free nights from MGM and Cosmo. You figure it out. I played heavily at Fremont q2 months before covid. I would call myself a loyal player. Room comps now Zero. What will happen when suckers quit coming in September.
my advice is forget it.
