Any ideas on what i've done wrong w/CET/HET?

I'm a platinum player at Harrahs, so basically a low roller. During my Christmas trip, I stayed 2 nights comped at the Flamingo (basic room but was upgraded to a GO room). My LV free hotels online had dwindled down to mid-week comp at most properties, but several comped weekends at the lower end properties as well.

When I returned from LV, I checked on-line and I could stay all nights comped at the lower and mid-range properties (with exception of March madness) and most mid-week nights at Caesars & PH. So...my offers were much better than before the trip, and I had noticed I'd earned more base points each day than in the past.

This past weekend, I booked Paris for (4) nights in March (3 mid-week, plus Friday). The calendar showed, when I booked these, that I could stay any night comped at Paris and most other properties from March 28th through April.

I went back into my Harrahs account today, looked at the destination calendar, and I have hardly any comped nights available for the rest of the year!! When I've booked comped rooms in the past, the destination calendar always remained nearly unchanged....wow, what a difference! Now my comped nights only show as RIO, Harrahs, and IP...and very few weekends at that.

Perhaps 4 nights at Paris makes me 'over-comped'? Anyway, I've not had this happen before in the several years I've been using HET/CET, so I thought I'd turn to the experts to see what experiences you've had and what I might have done 'wrong'.....

OMG this is so wierd....I just popped back into the destination calendar and all the comped nights were back! Not sure what happened, I DID make sure I was logged in when they were all gone, and I was. Logged out, then logged in again, and it looks the same as yesterday.

Very, very strange.

There is a lesson here, for all of us who can stomach HET. It is: the ability to set prices is so instantaneous today, that a deal must be taken, if you can stand the cancellation policy. So, for example, I am used to getting a comp-room on my birthday month while a diamond level. But, I haven't seen the offer, snail mail, or in TR. Glad I am, then, that my weekend next month was already booked for the LV Harrahs at 2/3 nights comped and one night for a pittance. When I see the joint I play 90% of my action, send me a mailer for my birfday comping two whole buffets, I am willing to speculate the number of winning visits last year changed the Roadhouses mind about my value as a customer. I havent seen cashback from them, in months. caveat, and all that. Good luck!

Checked the website after work, comped rooms were gone again. Checked again after dinner, they were back again once more....went ahead and grabbed the comped rooms at Caesars Palace for 4th of July trip while I could.

They must be having technical problems, really wild swings within the same hour. Not usually the case, but figured I'd better book when available rather than leave to chance!

im the lowest of low harrahs rollers and my offers are always odd.

then there are times i cant get ANY offers but if i log in and check dates, they come up as comped. but if i use an offer, its not comped.

you really have to check every day because there have been days i get zilch and then the next day i can get five comped nights.

what I've found with the Harrahs group is that when I log in I always go to reservations and not my offers.

I find that 99% of the time I'll get more comp stays then if I used an offer............Tom

Yep, I agree. I was in the destination calendar on the reservation tab...that way I can see the comped rooms available for all the LV hotels at once. Did check twice today and all the comped rooms are still there, must have been a technical glich yesterday, only thing I can think of!

The only time I use the offers is if the reservation section is showing a charge for the room, then I use the offers for comps.

I don't trust thier online calender. I am Platinum and it always shows I have to pay somehting at the Hotel I am interested in, but when I call them and ask by phone I get my Hotel choice and its comped.

I just booked three nights in March at the Paris. Online it showed no comps for the days I wanted. I made a phone call and asked for the same days at Paris and was comped all three days with a room upgrde.
