B Connected & Rebel Gas Promotion Inf

Hey Group,

I tried this out and wanted to let you know what happened.

So first, to do this you MUST take your B Connected Card inside to the Station Attendant.

There they will look at your card and activate the discount.

I further want you people to know that there are completely separate prices for the gas for paying with cash as opposed to paying with a Credit Card (so do keep that in mind -- in my instance I found out [after it was kind of late] that it was 7 Cents a Gallon less by paying with cash as opposed to paying with a Credit Card).

Also, at least the gas pumps at the station that I was at (which was down Flamingo west of Decatur) were having problems accepting the Coast Casinos B Connected Card (which I had handy) and so they had to come out to the pump and use some other card (I think Rebel Rewards) to get the 5 Cent per gallon discount.

And as I previously reported, at least as far as I know, the nearest Rebel station to a casino that we might go to is the one that's right across the street from Terrible's Casino on Flamingo and Paradise.

On the contrary in my case. I only had to slide my B Connected Card into the pump card reader and the discount was applied.
I have had the same experience as wjkomo the only two times I've tried -- I just swiped my card in the card reader at the pump before my credit card, and it reduced the price on the pump automatically.
When I was at the gas station, the sign about using the B Connected Card said that it had to be taken to the Gas Station Attendant.

But even when I tried swiping the card before taking the card in, I wasn't allowed to use it. So maybe things have changed or something. But again if you want to save more money, pay Cash. The Credit Card Charging price for the Gas is higher than the cash price.

I use the card at the pump no prob and it gives me a message saying I am saving .05 off the price (I use a credit card) and it verifies 5 cents less.
Even the Gas Station Attendant was having trouble swiping my card (it was from Club Coast) and he had to end up using another card to get me the $.05 discount.

I'm now realizing that it is good (and necessary) to go to the Gas Station Attendant inside if you are paying in Cash (which will save you even more money than when paying with a Credit Card -- there is actually a lower price for paying with Cash Versus the Credit Card).

When I was at the Rebel Station on 4/13, for Regular 87 Gas, the base cash price was $3.739 Per Gallon but the base price was $3.809 when using a Credit Card.

So the price went down to $3.689 per gallon for using the combination of cash plus the B-Connected Card as opposed to $3.759 per gallon for using a Credit Card Plus the B-Connected Card.

So please keep all of this in mind!

As I'm thinking about this more now, I just wanted to make it crystal clear that (at least when I was there) were I to have paid both in cash as well as used the B Connected Card, I would have saved an additional 12 Cents (7 Cents For Paying In Cash Plus 5 Cents For Using the B-Connected Card) per gallon as opposed to paying the Credit Card price along with not using the B-Connected Card.

So if you want to save the most at Rebel (at least as long as this B-Connected Promo is going on), not only should you pay in cash but you should also use your B-Connected Card.

I tried this at a Rebel gas station near the car rental return on Las Vegas Blvd. Attenedant inside thought they knew how it works, but did not. Just gave up. This seems to be a very poorly run promotion. Seems to be no accountablity. There should be instruction sheets available for both people who want to use the promotion, and for station attendants.

Tried paying in cash, all I got was cash price, no further discount. Maybe only applies to credit card payments.

Well at the station that I went to (which ended up being way down West Flamingo), the Attendant knew what it was, but we could not get the card to work and he had to end up swiping another card for it to work.

And at least as far as I know, that discount is supposed to further go for people who pay cash for the gas as well.

Does anyone else around here have experience with using the B-Connected card as well as cash? Or if anyone else in the future does this promotion while paying cash for the gas, please report your results here!
